4th July, 2014
Dear Parents & Caregivers,
Dear Parents & Caregivers,
The July school holidays
are just around the corner and it will be important that your child continues
to practise his/her English daily. A great way to do this is to have your child
participate in activities that allows your child to speak English with other children.
A ‘play date’ with an English speaking friend is always a good idea.
Also, Parnell Trust runs a
holiday programme right here at school. Choose from four exciting options: Club
House, Adventure Seekers, Multi-Sport and LEGO Mindstorms. More information can be found on this website:
www.parnell.org.nz or phone 555 5194
There are a range of
holiday activities on offer throughout Auckland. For example, the Auckland City
Council have a range of events taking place in many different locations
including the zoo, the Museum, Stardome, MOTAT, Wynyard Quarter and more. You
can find out more information on their website: www.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/EN/newseventsculture/events/Events/Pages/1winterschoolholidays.aspx
As always there is also a
wide range of valuable websites that offer your child extra practise in
English. Here are a few I would like to remind you about:

Lastly, for some of our younger
children I have attached an alphabet booklet. This will help your child to
practise their handwriting as they continue to learn the name of the letter and
the sound each letter makes.
Please feel free to keep in
touch with me regarding your child’s progress in English. My email address is: annah@parnell.school.nz
Sincerely,
Anna Hedstrom
